About Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is a program which seeks to develop in children an appreciation of the word of God. This is accomplished by gathering the children separately from the adults during Sunday Mass and using simplified Scripture texts and interactive preaching directed at increasing an understanding of the Scriptures in children ages 4 and up.
When we celebrate CLOW, the children are usually dismissed after the opening prayer, and they return before the procession with the Gifts.
CLOW includes the elements that we normally experience in the Liturgy of the Word at Sunday Mass (readings, Gospel, etc) Not every element is included every Sunday, but the Gospel of the day is always included. Sometimes there may be a Gospel drama where appropriate.
