OUR MISSION
Inspired by the above beatitude, our mission is to serve as a parish centered entity that encourages and facilitates a gateway for Cathedral parishioners to provide service outreach to external communities in need. Through worship, education, resource sharing, direct service and advocacy, we achieve our mission by offering the following:

• Service Education meetings on specific local, national or international needs of poor and vulnerable communities that emphasize the importance of Church social teachings and service as an essential part of what makes a parish Catholic.
• Support to encourage, celebrate and expand current parish Service Outreach programs, including outreach services provided by the Cathedral School.
• Creation of new parish Service Outreach programs to, most probably, function in collaboration with current Catholic faith based and independent community service groups.

OUR VISION
To serve as a facilitator to maximize the number of parishioners who contribute their time, talent or treasure to serve external communities in need of “helping hands” to address hunger, health, poverty and other issues.

OUR GOALS (Current and Ongoing Annually)

1. Goal 1: To celebrate and highlight parish involvement in current service programs.
    
   • Objective 1: By planning and executing a parish wide volunteer recognition Mass and Reception.
      
   • Objective 2: By developing a framework to highlight service volunteer efforts and opportunities from the pulpit, within the Church and School bulletins, on the website, in hard copy, and using other means.
      
2. Goal 2: To establish an (archdiocesan) partner parish relationship with the Cathedral Parish of the Diocese of Gonaives, Haiti.
    
   • Objective 1: By sending a delegation of CMOQ representatives, including Msgr. Jarboe, to Haiti, to meet Bishop Pean, Bishop of Gonaives, to discuss partnership objectives and establish a spiritual and pragmatic rapport with the leadership of that parish.
      
   • Objective 2: By planning and executing educational programs at CMOQ to develop interest and commitment in the parish partnership relationship.
      
   • Objective 3: By fostering our relationship with Catholic Relief Services - Gonaives diocesan programs.
      
3. Goal 3: To significantly expand parishioner involvement in service, through current and new parish service outreach programs, to external communities in need.
    
• Objective 1: By planning and executing service outreach educational meetings that inform parishioners of Church social teachings and opportunities to serve poor and vulnerable communities.
   
• Objective 2: By responding to service requests as they arise, and by identifying current Catholic faith based and independent community service groups that might lead to new parish service programs.
   
4. Goal 4: To enhance coordination of efforts, mutual support and effectiveness among all parish service outreach programs.
    
• Objective 1: By developing a comprehensive method to evaluate new and existing service programs.
   
• Objective 2: By developing a plan for leadership succession within the individual service programs.
   
• Objective 3: By developing a comprehensive method of communication to all parishioners regarding the service outreach opportunities available within the parish.
