Projects

Beginning in 2009, the Technology Committee has been supporting the Core Ministries of the Pastoral Council in the following ways.

Worship:
Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP) enables all implementing ministries to automate scheduling of ministry volunteers through an on-line system. The initial ministries using MASP are altar servers, ushers and EOM. Tony Unitas coordinates this effort for the committee. Website designer Terry Modica has been providing extensive support to music ministries.

Education:
The committee assists the education ministry in the development, implementation and data analysis of a parish wide education survey. Our website team coordinated distribution of the survey through push emails and location of the survey on the website. The Technology Committee is compiling the data from the surveys into an integrated database. These allow the education committee to more effectively and efficiently evaluate the data. Teresa Burke is coordinating this effort for the committee.

Stewardship:
The Technology Committee has been asked to support stewardship with three specific initiatives. This includes:

In association with these efforts, the Technology Committee is evaluating the ability of existing parish databases such as Parish Soft, Back Baud, etc, to integrate with a parish census effort as well as the parishioner registration process. Teresa Burke and Tony Unitas are coordinating these efforts

Evangelization:
Our webmaster, Terry Modica, has been involved in helping the committee evaluate the use of CMOQ web presence to enhance evangelization efforts. Frank Knott is working with the Welcome Sub-Committee on the integration of the website and Parish Soft with a new parishioner welcome package. The website has been used by the committee to promote upcoming events to increase participation.

Service:
The Tech Committee has been advising the Service Committee on ways to better publicize its activities and build an improved web presence.

Parish Wide:
There are strategic projects under the direction of the entire Technology Committee, which impact all core ministries and the Cathedral as a whole. These include:
