Quality Control Standards:
The Tech Committee's Guiding Principles
The committee adopted in 2001 a set of guiding principles, which would act as quality control standards for the implementation of technology solutions that supported Cathedral liturgical, service, education, stewardship and evangelization ministries:
- Communication and information systems throughout the parish and school complex must enable seamless real time communication and information flow and access for parish staff and volunteers.
- All communication and information systems will be based on open standards to allow for full interoperability between all functions within the parish and school complex.
- All communication and information systems and software applications procured will be from name brand suppliers with full after sale support and services.
- Communication and Information system investments will enable universal entry, access, and updating from any authorized single point of entry to the system.
- All parish and school demographic, sacramental, ministry, and financial information and communication systems will be fully integrated and interoperable.
- Access to parish information, the offer of ministry resources, requests for information or ministry resources, or the scheduling or inquiry of schedules will not be restricted by time or place.
- Training support of communication and information technology investments will be allocated at a rate of 30% of every dollar invested in technology resources.
- A Technology Corp of the youth of our parish will be engaged as much as possible in the development and administration of parish communication and information technology resources, and networks.
