It is a Lenten custom to clear away unneeded decorations and clutter so that our physical spaces become as uncluttered as our spirits. This helps us to reflect on the things that are important and valuable in our lives and to pray without distraction. Place in a small space a purple cloth, a crucifix made of twigs, a pot with tulip bulbs, and a container for alms. Pray a small prayer before dinner with your family.
Lenten Prayer:
Loving God, Bless our Lenten activities that will remind us to reach out and find you. Bless our efforts to grow in our love for you, in our generosity toward others, and our willingness to live as true followers of Jesus, your Son, in whose name we pray. Amen.
Lenten Almsgiving:
Adopt a Family. Would you be interested in adopting a family during the Lenten Season with your family, neighbors, or workplace? We will be helping families at an Inner City Catholic School that are in need of food. For more information and to sign up to do this, please download the flyer.
Easter Flowers:
Remember or honor a loved one with an Easter Flower offering this year. Gifts help meet the cost of decorating the Cathedral with beautiful flowers and greenery for Easter.
If you would like to contribute towards the Easter Flowers, please email Mary Miller, Director of Development or call her at 410-464-4014. A listing of the remembered and honored will be published in the bulletin after Easter.
Easter Collection:
Your contribution to the Cathedral makes a tremendous difference in our parish life and ministries. If you would like to contribute to the Easter Collection, please email Mary Miller, Director of Development or call her at 410-464-4014. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of a gift to the Cathedral’s Easter Collection.
