Cathedral Food Program

Through this program we feed the hungry by collecting and distributing contributions to designated soup kitchens and food pantries.

You can make an immediate difference in the lives of our hungry neighbors by donating money to feed hungry people in Baltimore. You can contribute by taking an envelope marked "Cathedral Food Program" from the tables by the doors to the Cathedral, placing your money inside, and giving your envelope during the regular collection at Mass.

Envelopes for giving are located by the Church doors.

Thank You!
Read these words of thanks from those who have benefited from the generosity of Cathedral parishioners:

Dear Cathedral Food Program Donors,

"God loves a cheerful giver." And so, because of your continuous cheerful generosity to the Franciscan Center, you are especially loved by God.

But, God's response of love to us is not always recognizable because it is often expressed in the faces of those whom we come into contact with the least: in the smile of the one who is comforted; in the twinkle of the eye of the one who feels the loving embrace of another who cares; in the quiet whisper of a "Thank You" after a simple meal.

Our reward of working and volunteering here at the Center is the privilege of experiencing the smile, the twinkle, the whisper. However, in our humilty, we know that none of this would be possible without you, the cheerful giver.

Hopefully, this small expression of our gratitude to you will enliven a deep felling within you that the good Lord does, indeed, embrace you and and will richly reward you for your being His instrument of love among those whom our society has deemed the "unlovable."

To be so richly rewarded is our prayer and the prayer of those whom we serve, an expression of God's love made possible because of your gift of $300 to be used for our food program.

Sincerely,
Fr. Aaron M. Dowdell, O.SS.T.
Director, Franciscan Center

Dear Cathedral Food Program Donors,

Thank you and the parishioners of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen for their latest most generous donation of $300 to the Cathedral Food Program.

Just yesterday, a couple came looking for food and were delighted to be able to take gift certificates to Martin's to purchase some staples for their family. On Sunday, a lady came for help with the rent and also asked if we could help her to get food for herself and three children. We are helping many!! The little plastic cards from Martin's have been a great help to us and to the many that you ar helping to feed.

Once again, we are most grateful to the parishioners of the Cathedral who are showing such care for their brothers and sisters in Western Maryland. Know that all of you are remembered in our intention books.

Blessings,
Sister Joan Maenner
