December 2017

Blood Drive

Cathedral is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive in the Parish Center on December 14 from 2pm to 7pm. Donors must be at least 17 years old, 16 with written parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health.

Christmas Collection

Sunday School of Religion and School of the Cathedral families are collecting donations for our sister parish, Immaculate Conception, for families that are not adopted through Adopt a Family. Please bring in items (see image for item list) by Sunday, December 17!

Lessons and Carols

All are invited to Lessons and Carols on December 17 from 4pm to 5:30pm. The service, reminiscent of its English heritage, is sung in a candlelight setting by the Cathedral Choir. Traditional Carols and anthems celebrating the joy of the Christmas season will be offered. Free and open to the public.

All are welcome to attend a Mass for the Sick, every fourth Friday of the month at 5:30pm. Blank “petition slips,” on which congregants list the names of the sick, are available at the entrance to the Chapel at 5 pm. Reconciliation – extended hours

Extended hours for Reconciliation will be on Saturday, December 23 from 3-5pm. No appointment necessary.

Fourth Sunday in Advent / Christmas Eve Masses

On Sunday, December 24, the regular Mass schedule will be followed for the Fourth Sunday of Advent: 8am, 9:30am, and 11am. In the evening of December 24, there will be vigil Masses for Christmas at these times: 4 pm Christmas Eve Mass with Children’s Pageant 6 pm Christmas Eve Mass – Organ and Cantor 10 pm Christmas Eve Mass w/ Archbishop Lori /Choir On Christmas Day, a Holy Day of Obligation, there will be Masses at 10am and 12noon.

Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, NOT a Holy Day of Obligation this year, will be January 1 at 9am. The Parish Center is closed on January 1.

Baptism Prep Class

Parents interested in having their child(ren) baptized at the Cathedral must attend a Baptism Prep class before scheduling their baptism. Baptism prep classes are usually held once a month.
