The sacraments of Christian initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist - lay the foundations of every Christian life... "the faithful are born anew by Baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of Confirmation, and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. Traditionally, teens receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in ninth grade (freshman year of high school.) The Sacramental Preparation Program for Confirmation at the Cathedral is an in-person program. Teens will attend in-person sessions and a one-day retreat in preparation for the Sacrament.
Please Note: Per Archdiocesan Guidelines, children must participat in Faith Formation for the year preceding a Sacrament. Children not enrolled in Catholic school should, therefore, register to participate in the Family Faith Formation Program at the Cathedral for eighth grade. Children enrolled in Catholic school are not required to attend a parochial Faith Formation program as their religion curriculum fulfills the Faith Formation requirement.

Adults who have not been confirmed for any reason may receive the sacrament at Masses celebrated semi-annually between the Cathedral and the Basilica of the Assumption. Those with interest should contact Father Kenneth Lukong.
