Courageous Conversations about Race

The Cathedral community invites all school parents and parishioners to join us for this opportunity. Participants will engage in an exercise of having conversations about race and learning how to be respectful of other people’s truth as well as being aware of where we are (emotionally, intellectually, theologically, actually) in that conversation. The exercise will help people define terms and come to a common language about those terms regarding race. It will also leave attendees with resources to expand our understanding of racial issues and experience of minorities. The evening is based off of Glenn Singleton’s book Courageous Conversations About Race. Todd Wade, the “Equity Chair” at Overlea High School, will be our facilitator for this event. All are invited to attend the 5:30 PM Mass on that day, followed by a meal starting at 6 PM in the Parish Center. The program will begin at 6:30 PM and will conclude at 9 PM. We will have child care for the event, so people who need it are enabled to participate. To register click the button below.
