Concerts at the Cathedral
With the vast treasury of sacred music written over the centuries, there simply is not an occasion to use it all during the celebration of Mass. It is therefore fitting that we hold concerts from time to time in order to explore this abundance of music. The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen has a long-standing reputation for offering quality concerts with talented local, national, and international performers.
The Capital University Chapel Choir from Columbus, Ohio, under the direction of Dr. Lynda R. Hasseler, is nationally and internationally acclaimed as one of the country’s premier collegiate choral ensembles. They will present a performance of their East Coast/Carnegie Hall Concert Tour at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at 7:30 PM. The concert is free and open to the public. Entitled “With All My Heart,” it features sacred and secular masterpieces from the Renaissance to Contemporary. There is something for everyone in this concert the Chapel Choir performs with their beautiful voices and with all of their hearts.
Every concert here has three purposes: 1) it helps preserve, promote, and discover the wealth of sacred music, 2) it enables us to spend more time together as a community, and 3) it enables us to reach out and invite others to discover our community. Will you come to the concert this week? Do you know others who enjoy music? Would you invite them to the concert? I hope you will join me in welcoming the Capital University Choir this week by coming to the concert and inviting your friends to come as well.
