First Sunday of Lent | Journey to Jerusalem
Welcome to Cathedral's Lenten Reflection series, "Journey to Jerusalem." We are blessed to have over 20 parishioners and friends embarking on the trip of a lifetime - a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Jordan for 12 days. The pilgrims will travel later this month, and they will be documenting their journey on our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
You're invited to read a reflection from a pilgrim below, as well as a snippet of information about the Holy Land. We pray that learning about the Holy Land this Lent brings you deeper into your faith!
Reflections from a Pilgrim
Ron and Lucy are so excited to be travelling on this pilgrimage! "With our recent retirement, the Holy Land Pilgrimage seems to be a perfect transition as we begin the next chapter of our lives," they say. Remember - if you'd like to submit any prayers for the pilgrims to bring with them, you may do so on our website! Thank you for praying for us, as we are praying for you.
Did you know?
After leaving Tiberias, our pilgrims will cross from Israel into Jordan and will visit Mt. Nebo. Mt. Nebo is part of a mountain range that lies east of the Jordan River and longitudinally speaking is near the northern tip of the Dead Sea. This significant biblical site is the place from which Moses viewed the promised land. Since Moses never entered the promised land, it is also the place of his death.
