Fr. Bianco's Message for the Week: April 15, 2022

Dear Cathedral Parishioners,

We find ourselves in the midst of the Paschal Triduum, the culmination of the entire liturgical year. These three days (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday/Easter Sunday) are at the epicenter of the liturgical life of the Church. What we celebrate during the Triduum is not simply a re-enactment of events that happened over 2000 years ago, but is an actual participation in the events themselves through our living Faith. Every celebration of the Mass is a participation in the saving Paschal Mystery, that is, the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Please consider participating in the remainder of the Triduum. You may find the schedule of liturgies and events here: www.cathedralofmary.org/news/holy-week-easter-schedule-2022.

Our children’s Easter Egg Hunt is back on this year on Holy Saturday at 10:00 AM sharp on the Cathedral Front Lawn. There is no registration for this event. Please be on time because the eggs go quickly!

Here is a list of some of our upcoming Easter events beginning next week:

As we prepare to celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection, I wish you and your families a most blessed and joyous Easter. May the grace and joy of the Risen Christ be with you now and always. Happy Easter!

May God bless you.

Father Louis A. Bianco
Rector

Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries

So far we have raised up to $198,095 which is 79% of our goal.

This year instead of our parish only receiving a portion of funds raised for the Appeal for Catholic Ministries, Cathedral will keep 100% of all donations up to $250,000. Any funds raised over our goal will support the many important ministries of the appeal.

The funds will go towards several projects that will benefit the entire Cathedral campus. For more details please visit our website. Thank you for your generous support!
