Fr. Bianco's Message for the Week: December 23, 2022

Dear Cathedral Family,

The solemnity of the Nativity of our Lord celebrates God’s love for us, the joy of the Incarnation, and the gift of our redemption. God’s gift of love is His eternal Son who, while remaining fully God, became fully human. The world was (and still is) in such darkness that God wanted to shed a light to dispel that darkness. Through Jesus Christ, God has truly given light to the world, a light meant to illumine every one of us. Having become illuminated with God’s love, we then become a light of joy and love for those around us. May the joy, peace, and happiness of this Christmas Season inspire you to take that light of Christ into the lives of those closest to you.

It is a joy for me and Fr. Gough to welcome so many people who will worship with us at Christmas. The Cathedral church is never more beautiful than when it is full of God’s sons and daughters. Please consider worshipping with us beyond Christmas. We welcome those who pray with us week after week, as well as those former parishioners of Cathedral who are home for the holiday, and especially all visitors who either join us every Christmas or who are experiencing this grand cathedral for the first time. You are all most welcome.

I wish you and your loved ones a blessed and merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year filled with many graces from the hand of the Child of Bethlehem.

Rectory Open House
Please mark your calendars for the annual Rectory Open House, which will be held in the rectory on Epiphany Sunday, January 8th, immediately following the 11:00 AM Mass. Please join your fellow parishioners for light refreshments and fellowship. All parishioners are welcome.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

May God bless you.

Father Louis A. Bianco
Rector
