Fr. Bianco's Message for the Week: December 30, 2022

Dear Cathedral Family,

I pray that you are all having a wonderful and blessed Christmas season filled with many graces from God. May this season be a memorable time of much peace and love between family and friends.

How wonderful it was to have so many people worshipping with us at Christmas. I am grateful to all of our youth who participated in the Children’s Choir and Pageant at the 4:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass. Our youth give us a sense of joy and hope.

I am deeply grateful for all who assisted at our Christmas Masses and who made everything possible in so many ways: our liturgical ministers (servers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, & lectors), sacristans, ushers, those who decorated the Cathedral so beautifully, and especially our singers and musicians, under the direction of Julie Grace Males, who helped us raise our minds and hearts to God. The entire Cathedral community is grateful for all of you.

Feast of the Holy Family
Today (Friday) is the Feast of the Holy Family. I take this opportunity to invoke God’s blessings on the many wonderful families of our Cathedral parish and school community. As Jesus Christ was part of a human family, may He protect and watch over your families so that, through His grace, you may enjoy prosperity, possess His peace, and bear witness to the world the glory of God.

Feast of the Epiphany & Rectory Open House
On Sunday, January 8th, we will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany. Mass times are the normal Sunday schedule: 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:00 AM. Confessions are heard at 8:45 AM and 10:30 AM. The Rectory Open House immediately follows the 11:00 AM Mass. All parishioners are welcome to attend the Open House.

Feast of the Baptism of the Lord
The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord will be celebrated on Monday, January 9th with our normal daily Mass schedule. Masses will be offered at 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM and confessions and adoration will be held at 4:30 PM.

I wish all of you a very happy and healthy New Year filled with many graces and blessings from the hand of the Child of Bethlehem.

May God bless you.

Father Louis A. Bianco
