Fr. Bianco's Message for the Week: January 6, 2023

Dear Cathedral Family,

This weekend we celebrate the great feast of the Epiphany of the Lord. Epiphany means ‘manifestation’ and it initially referred to the first and final comings of Jesus. As we celebrate the feast when God revealed Himself to the Magi and, therefore, to the world, we recognize that God is continually manifested among us through our prayer, the sacraments, and through others. May we make the daily effort to manifest, through our words and actions, our Lord to all whom we encounter.

Rectory Open House
Please join your fellow parishioners for the annual Rectory Open House after the 11:00 AM Mass this Sunday. Light refreshments will be served.

Feast of the Baptism of the Lord
The Christmas season ends on Monday, January 9th with the feast of the Baptism of the Lord. We will offer our regular Mass, Confession, and Adoration schedule on Monday.

Christmas Collection
I want to sincerely thank all who contributed to the Christmas collection. Your generosity is truly a blessing to this parish. Final numbers will be forthcoming.

Poinsettia Plants
If you want to take a bit of Christmas home with you, we will make available next week the red and white poinsettia plants that decorated the church and chapels after the plants have been removed from the church. They will be individually bagged and placed outside of the sacristy to the right of the high altar. Those who have contributed to the flower offering may have first choice by picking up any wanted plants on Wednesday. Everyone else may feel free to stop in during the remainder of the week to take poinsettias home with you.

May God bless you.

Father Louis A. Bianco
