Fr. Bianco's Message for the Week: November 11, 2022

Dear Cathedral Family,

Having been away for a bit over two weeks (my first vacation out of the country since before the pandemic), it is a blessing to be back home at Cathedral, especially as we celebrate our Homecoming Weekend. Certainly, the cathedrals that I visited in Italy are breathtaking, but my thoughts kept going back to our own Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, majestic and beautiful in its own right. Let us give thanks to God for this magnificent structure where we gather as a parish family to worship God and to support and pray with one another. We also give thanks for the vision and generosity of Thomas O’Neill who made all of this possible. Please join us after Masses this weekend for doughnuts and waffles in front of the church, and please consider attending our inaugural concert on Sunday at 3:00 PM as we kick off a new Cathedral Music Series. Happy anniversary!

Cathedral Colloquium
Our inaugural Cathedral Colloquium has been a great success. Please join us for the final Colloquium lecture on Monday, November 14th at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. Our very own Deacon Fritz Bauerschmidt will present on The Cosmic Spheres and the Heavenly Rose: Dante Imagines Paradise. Deacon Fritz is a professor of theology at Loyola University of Maryland and one of our permanent deacons at CMOQ.

Past lectures can be found on our YouTube channel:

School of the Cathedral Open House
Our final Fall Open House for the school will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at 9:00 AM. Those who participate will meet current parents and staff, tour the school, converse with student ambassadors, and experience a day in the life of a Mustang. Please invite your friends and family who might be looking for a school for their children next year.

RSVP here:

May God bless you.

Father Louis A. Bianco
