Holy Week @ Home: Monday, March 29

Welcome to Lent @ Home! We believe prayer leads to action - so start your day with us in prayer, then complete the action below. Thank you for journeying with us this Lent!

Chrism Mass is tonight! What is the Chrism Mass?

This annual liturgical celebration takes its name from the fact the Chrism (Olive oil mixed with an aromatic resin called balsam) is consecrated at this Mass.  The Chrism receives special attention because it must be consecrated by the bishop and is the oil used for anointing the Catechumens who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil.  This is also the Mass at which all the priests of the diocese are invited to attend so that they may renew their vows appropriate for their priestly ministry.

This Mass is not open to the public this year, but will be livestreamed - we encourage you to watch here!

Prayer of the Day

“Mary took a liter of costly perfumed oil made from genuine aromatic nard and anointed the feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair.” Jn 12:3

Mary of Bethany shared something precious with Jesus. What will you give to others this week that shows your love for Jesus?

Action of the Day

Prayer and Worship Action: Participate in a parish celebration of the Stations of the Cross (this Friday at 6pm!) or watch a replay of one of the recent livestreamed Stations of the Cross.
