Wednesday of the Second Week of Advent | Lisa Kantz

Advent reflection for Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019

Scripture reading: Matthew 11: 28-30

By: Lisa Kantz

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says “Come to me,
all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest”.
Have you put it to the test?
As Christmas draws near
Do you take time to hear?
His voice asking, are you tired?
Are you worn?
To help you live freely is why I was born.
I’ll show you the way to
take a real rest.
Walk with me, for I know best.
 As you decorate your nest,
And don your party dress,
Remember to come to me this season,
And I will give you rest.

Prayer: When I’m tired from the hustle and bustle, the stress and anxiety of the holidays, help me Lord to find a real rest in you.  Your yoke is easy and your burden light.  You won’t lay anything heavy on me, like the world does.  Help me to rest in you.
