On behalf of Archbishop William E. Lori and members of the Cathedral parish, I welcome you to the “parish church” of the 500,000 Catholics of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Besides serving the larger community as the Catholic Cathedral of Baltimore, this magnificent edifice is the “parish church” of a thriving community of 1300 families.
Established on November 15, 1959, three generations of Catholics have called Cathedral “home.” Here young and old are formed in the life-giving ways of God’s Word; here the presence of the Risen Christ is celebrated in the Church’s sacraments; here countless acts of charity are offered in care of the “least of our brothers and sisters.”
Along with the Cathedral Church, our campus also serves as home to the School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. A nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, the parish school has been an important part of the parish’s life and mission from its beginning.
We are delighted that you have graced us with your presence. If you are visiting Baltimore, we hope you will join us for weekday or Sunday Mass. If you are looking for a parish to call “home,” we welcome you to our family.
Regardless of the length of your stay, do not hesitate to contact any member of the parish staff if we can be of assistance to you or your family.
Msgr. Richard W. Woy
